Stephen Wirtz Gallery: Mark Steinmetz - Photographs.
Comment by AB: Photography of the South East and South Central states by Atlanta, Georgia photographer Mark Steinmetz-- mainly rural, small town and portraits-- taken between 1982-2005, silver prints developed and printed the old fashioned way, ranging in flavor from heartfelt, romantic and at times unsettling, to wistful melancholy reminiscences.

K. Imperial Fine Art: Prodigies of Physical Phenomena - Lawrence Jordan.
Comment by AB: Recent collage work and vintage assemblage dioramas (circa 1965-2004) by artist and experimental filmmaker Lawrence Jordan. The way he combines elements is as peculiar as can be and makes little no sense at all when considered from an intellectual perspective, yet set your mind aside and be transported to marvelously anomalous realities where everyone lives happily ever after. You might call his art Victorian Surrealism.

Toomey Tourell Gallery: Casper Brindle - Strata.
Review by RWM: Great take on the horizon here which is depicted with all sorts of colors and moods. Some fantastical, one with inset LED lights. You can get lost in the fog or the stars. The horizon reminds that there are not as many limits as we think. Great show which challenges our boundaries.
Comment by AB: Challenging to photograph due to the hi-gloss ingredients-- automotive and acrylic paint and resin-- but they're quite nicely done. Stop on by.

Bekris Gallery: City Whispers - Frank Marshall.
Comment by AB: South African photographer Frank Marshall makes a return appearance with his startling documentary portraits of heavy metal music devotees from Botswana. I liked 'em the first time; I like 'em again.
