Fraenkel Gallery: John Gossage - Who Do You Love; Where There's Smoke - Ruth van Beek, Jason Fulford, Michael Lundgren, Viviane Sassen.
Comment by AB: This adventure in atypical imagery includes some rather enticing photography/collage combinations by John Gossage (from the 1990s) in the rear gallery, and Ruth van Beek and Viviane Sassen in the front gallery. Stop on by.

Caldwell Snyder Gallery: Turn on, Tune in, Drop Out - David Buckingham.
Review by RWM: Bold. Funny. Great homage to a time and attitude that has not completely evaporated. Sometimes sculpture consisting of just words is also worth a thousand of them. Nice to see the irreverence which may inspire and invigorate.
Comment by AB: David Buckingham's sculpture made from vintage painted sheet metal is always entertaining. Check it out.

African American Art & Culture Complex: Stolen Legacy - The Nappy Roots of Africa's Contribution to Civilization. Curated by Tracy Brown, Melonie Green, Melorra Green, William Rhodes.
Artists: Aswad Aarif, Tracy Brown, CHOKE, Michael Cotton, Courageous, Taharka El Henson, James Gayles, Dirk Joseph, Kristine Mays, Anthony McKissic, Stacy Mootoo, Aambr Newsome, William Rhodes, Michael Ross, Safetyfirst, Karen Seneferu, Malik Seneferu, CiCi Swan, Paula Waley.
Comment by AB: This inspirational group show is based on the book "Stolen Legacy: Greek Philosophy is Stolen Egyptian Philosophy" by George G.M James, but covers all kinds of territory. The art is themed mainly on the initiation and learning processes involved in membership-only "Mystery Systems" and "Secret Orders" of classical African societies, and offers up contemporary perspectives on these sacred ancient matters.
