Hosfelt Gallery: Gideon Rubin - On the Road; Jim Campbell - Tilted Plane .
Review by Anneliese Vobis: In the main gallery is Gideon Rubin's solo painting show consisting of mainly portraiture and landscapes. Stunning elegant compositions take our breath away in this wonderful transformed space. His winter pastel color palette creates a delicate timeless quality. Powerful faceless figures embrace our fantasies, encouraging us to come up with the plot of these staged stories on canvas. A mystical energy from a different world is celebrated!
Comment by AB: In the rear gallery, experience Jim Campbell's lightbulb installation with each bulb representing a single pixel, the totality forming a large "video screen," displaying vague moving images that are nigh on impossible to resolve. Worth seeing in person.

Brian Gross Fine Art: Linda Fleming - Evanescent... Sculptures, Wall Sculptures and Drawings.
Comment by AB: Precise maze-like cut, powder coated and bolted steel sculptures are like geometric rollercoaster journeys. This is the closing event, not the opening.

Catherine Clark Gallery: Stacey Steers - Night Hunter.
Comment by AB: Video, photo stills, shadow boxes, collage, sculpture and a limited edition book entice us into the eerily disquieting world of Stacey Steers. The show is about to close; I get in just under the wire. Like it.

Driftwood Salon: Defining Lines.
Artists: Dale Erickson, Rafael Bensuaski Vieira, Albert Reyes, Helen Bayly, Shayna Yasuhara, Ricardo Miranda, Bridget Star Harrison.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Group show of works in pencil, ink or pastel on paper. The lack of color enriches the very expressive line work. The strong 2D effect forces the audience to pay attention to the messages of the shown compositions. Worth a closer second look.

Alter Space: Holiday Fundraiser Auction.
Artists: About 40.
Review by RWM: Great show for a great cause. The work will not be here forever, but there is something here for everyone. Fascinating show like fascinating shows in the past. Much to ponder. Not always enough time to reflect.

Misho Gallery: Distinctive Views - Xavier Phelp with Guest Artists Roxanne Worthington, valerie jacobs & Heiko Greb.
Review by RWM: Amazing group show with interesting styles to be observed. Viewers will find here pop, pathos and humor. You can revel in the surrealism or enjoy the monochrome images. The show abounds with all sorts of different perspectives. Fun to be had; candy for the mind.
