John Pence Gallery: Joseph McGurl.
Review by RWM: Beautiful mastery of landscape and form. The painted lighting effects are almost magical. Wonderful art which provides windows into Nature. Not a show that should be missed by landscape painters. Great inspirations.

Satellite 66 Gallery, 66 Sixth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103: Accendo Nox.
Artists: Sean Stevens and Ashley Newton (aka Sustainable Magic), Liz Mamorsky, Craig Dorety, Ray Sykes, Jonathan Foote, Richard Humphrey.
Comment by AB: Closing event for this show of art that incorporates light and electronics. Kaleidoscopic mechanical flowers that bloom on the wall are my pick, though there's good work all the way around.

Comment by AB: Yet another thrill-a-minute episode of this venerable bohemian jamboree where artists make art for the love of it, for their friends, and for the cause of more appealing visual options no matter where you turn. The only agenda here is to pack a room with art and art lovers and celebrate creativity. The best part? Affordability abounds with plenty of art priced at under $100, and plenty more that's just a little bit higher.
