Comment by AB: I see a fair amount of encaustics out there and yes, it's a difficult medium, and I suppose that's why in the overwhelming majority of instances, the finished products leave me wanting. Howard Hersh, to the contrary, appears to have mastered the nuances of the craft. In other words, the wax goes where he wants it to rather than wherever it feels like going.
