Guerrero Gallery: A J Fosik - Lamplighter to the Promised Land; Daniel Albrigo in the Project Room.
Comment by AB: A J Fosik's intense polychromed bestial demigods command their domains with diabolically mesmerizing stares. In the Project Room, Daniel Albrigo does heinous things to the smiley face.

Artists: Alexis Arnold, Lauren Bartone, Julia Bradshaw, Laura Chenault, Sarah Christianson, Christine Elfman, Emily Eiffler, Julia Goodman, Matt Gualco, Samuel Levi Jones, Kate Jordahl with Don Drake, Pantea Karimi, Michael Kerbow, Wendy Kramer, Steven Vasquez Lopez, Klea McKenna, Camilla Newhagen, Yulia Pinkusevich with Glenna Cole Allee, Maria Porges, Megan Prelinger, Leah Rosenberg, Brian Taylor, Nanette Wylde, Jody Zellen.
Review by RWM: Books seem to be good for so many other unintended things than just reading in this show which uses them as bricks, artifacts and more. Don't miss the pile that makes a wall... or the words projected on the wall.
Comment by AB: Art about books, book-related art, artist books, art made out of books, and some art that doesn't appear to have anything to do with books.
Literary installation by Yulia Pinkusevich & Glenna Cole Allee.

White Walls Gallery: Congo - Jonathan Darby.
Comment by AB: Inspired by his work with children's art programs for the charity AptART in The Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire), Jonathan Darby completely transforms the gallery in order to share with us what daily life is like for the inhabitants there, particularly the youngest ones. An eminently compelling presentation. Stop on by and get a sense of the life that's lived by those not nearly as fortunate as we are. Go see.
