Comment by AB: Ambiguous indeterminate portraits and figural interactions by Philip Buller are notable for their rich layered textures, achieved in part by painting through screens. Not sure how he does it, but he's mastered a rather unique and intriguing technique. The mysterious atmospheric results gift viewers with loads of latitude for interpretation.

Italian Cultural Institute: Domenico Monteforte - Painting in Action.
Comment by AB: Tuscan painter Domenico Monteforte transforms a portion of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura into his studio for a month and paints up a cross-cultural chronicle about where he lives and what he loves. The way he portrays it, Italy looks real good to me. Gimme a ticket and I'm there.
