Systems Mural Project - Brian Barneclo.
Comment by AB: Brian Barneclo has recently completed the largest outdoor mural in San Francisco-- 620 feet long, 40 feet high, totaling over half an acre in surface area. The mural took two weeks to paint. Developing the project, getting the approvals, putting together the financing, getting permissions and permits from various agencies, and satisfying a slew of other bureaucratic requirements took three years. The accomplishment's not necessarily in the painting itself (that's the easy part); it's in the ability to pull this dealie-bob off in the first place-- from conception to completion. The mural is located at Seventh and Brannan Streets in San Francisco's SOMA district. Check it out; you're guaranteed to be impressed.
The moral of the story? If you need a major mural-- regardless of size-- Brian Barneclo's a dude who can do it. And now for the mural... from left to right. Keep in mind that I'm photographing it from clear across a train yard and am at least 50-100 yards away at all times. In other words, this baby is BIG!
