Crown Point Press: Working Proofs - A Revelation.
Artists: Anne Appleby, Robert Bechtle, Brad Brown, John Chiara, Mary Heilmann, Tom Marioni, Susan Middleton, Gay Outlaw, Laura Owens, Ed Ruscha, Amy Sillman, William T. Wiley.
Comment by AB: This one's not so much about the art, but rather about the process. Preliminary impressions and sequences of working proofs are on display right alongside the completed prints. It all looks so easy until you realize the work that goes into achieving the perfected finished image.

The McLoughlin Gallery: Unique Dialogue.
Artists: Charles Giulioli, Pauline Ohrel, Sophie Sigorel.
Review by RWM: Interesting abstracts. Great portable metal sculptures. The wire work that creates all manner of forms takes the cake. Great to see things represented by wire, a medium that also leaves color and surfaces to the imagination. Fun show.
Comment by AB: Cryptic indeterminate figure and genre scenes by Sophie Sigorel, bronze and wire sculptures by Pauline Ohrel, and peppy effervescent abstractions by Charles Giulioli signify this international exchange of talent between Mondapart Galerie of Boulogne and Paris, and McLoughlin Gallery.

The Popular Workshop: Free Fall - Igory Deiana.
Comment by AB: This futuristic mix includes sculpture, drawings, photography, mixed media and installation. Most impressive in the execution department are Igory Deiana's precision ball point pen and ink works. His subtle gradations seem almost impossible to achieve while those of you looking for that unique special something might consider one of his ink-coated sculptures as an option.
