George Krevsky Gallery: Ken Kalman - Points of Interest.
Review by RWM: Fine show with a variety of styles and techniques on display. Amazing metal sculptures are the high point. Fascinating oversized coins on the walls. Great use of maps to make collaged sculptures which remind of adventure and travel. A lot here to take one's mind away from the unpredictable weather.
Comment by AB: Wonderful whimsical sculptures by Ken Kalman are exceptionally accomplished as well. Worth a visit.

Chandler Fine Art: Jesse Allen - Works on Paper.
Comment by AB: Visionary fantasyscapes by Jesse Allen recall the boundlessly optimistic (and naive) idealism of the 1960s and early 1970s. Allen's been at this art gig for nearly 50 years.

Comment by AB: Art, performance and participatory experiences mark the 39th anniversary celebration of one of San Francisco's foremost nonprofit arts organizations. The roster includes a number of the area's most noted alternative and experimental artists of the past 39 years. You know, it would be nice if you'd label the art with the artists' names. Then I could label the art here with the artists' names. Lots of other galleries do label the art in their group shows. Just sayin'. Anyone who wants to help caption the photos is welcome to email me here.
Update: Never mind. David Cunningham to the rescue and caption problem solved!
