George Krevsky Gallery: Gordon Cook - Form and Figure, Sculptures and Maquettes from the Estate.
Review by RWM: We've got perky and upbeat art of Gordon Cook once again. Though some might consider his figure sculptures as expressions of alienation or dehumanization, they're really more satirical than anything else. Cook almost seems to have been making fun of himself, amusement that can easily be shared by all, though like Cook, we'll really be laughing at ourselves.
Comment by AB: Gordon Cook transforms twigs and wood blocks into real people. Show me another artist who can do that. His personifications are so simple, whimsical and understated, you might just miss the brilliance. Check 'em out.

Nieto Fine Art: Ed Handelman - Untitled.
Review by RWM: Beautiful use of color and unusually striking contrasts. One finds here a state of being and can rejoice in the vibrance. The figures presented appear akin and offer a visual experience accessible to many.

Adobe Books Backroom Gallery: Life, Objects, and Why Not - Emily Huffman and Patricia Mera.
Review by RWM: Bold concepts with wild creatures taken out of context and into a wilderness if ideas. The sometimes ornate renderings are impressive, told here in freestyle. Interesting use of found objects for sculptures, fascinating in how the real becomes surreal.

I sure do. The highlight? Hedge Gallery's exhibition booth is made entirely out of hay bales, but every bit of this exhibition is excellent. Highly recommended-- don't miss next year's.
