Visual Aid at Varnish Fine Art: Benefit Art Sale for Visual Aid.
Artists: Jennybird Alcantara, Isabel Samaras, Ransom & Mitchell, Chuck Sperry, Mike Davis.
Comment by AB: Rousing fundraiser for Visual Aid, a longstanding San Francisco non-profit that encourages artists with life-threatening illnesses to keep making art. How? By providing art supplies, art related services, exhibition opportunities, show venues and much more. Varnish co-owner Jen Rogers tells me that the show is also a preview of the art and artists the gallery will be exhibiting this December in Miami. Stop on by.

Club Six: So You Think You Can Paint.
Artists: You.
Comment by AB: So here's the skinny. Stage a regular event where anyone can paint whatever they want with unlimited free art supplies courtesy of Club Six and what happens? All kinds of people come together in many different ways and for many different reasons. Why? Art. It's precisely that simple and no more complicated. Creator and producer Jay Frost tells me that 300-500 people participate in this weekly convocation. Release your inner artist now. It's all good here.

Live Worms Gallery: The F-Stops HERE - The ART of Photography.
Photographers: Alan Geller, Alex Miloradovich, Gregg Schmaltz Martinez, James Cha, Jean Dierkes Carlisle, Judy On, Kate Boynton, Lynn Alcorn, rAmu Aki, Rebecca Peters, Romalyn Schmaltz Martinez, Ruby Ray, Sean O'Donnell, Tomaso Rush.
Comment by AB: Classic North Beach characters converge for this photographic free-for-all. The best part? Prices start at well under $50. That's one thing I love about these Live Worms shows-- no matter what your budget, you can always come away with something. And isn't that what making and sharing art is all about?
