John Pence Gallery: Introductions 2012 - Justin Hess, Lance Hewison, Aron Maynell, Jason Toney.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Representational appropriated imagery melts together in a glorification of art historical icons like Velasquez and Rubens. The multi layered, masterfully crafted paintings demand our total attention to concentrate on colors, textures and scenes. The gallery space in combination with the artists' works creates a very balanced and peaceful situation.

Queen's Nails: I'm So Goth --I'm Dead! Curated by Bob Linder and Julio César Morales.
Artists: Justin Adian, Juan Luna-Avin, Yason Banal, Andrea Bacigalupo, Nate Boyce, Enrique Chagoya, Joshua Churchill, Wally Hedrick, Desiree Holman, Claire Fontaine, Jason Jagel, David J. Haskins, Bessma Khalaf, Euan Macdonald, Anne McGuire, Manuel Ocampo, Eamon Ore-Giron, Suzy Poling, Erin Thurlow, Pedro Reyes, Jonathan Runcio.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Site specific projects remind of the allegories of Max Beckmann, Francesco Clemente and Anselm Kiefer. Certain images and figures express feelings similar to the famous Seven Deadly Sins painting in Europe. The melancholic traumatic arrangements make good use of the given space.
Comment by AB: "An exhibition based on the decline of spirit, collapse of economy, gothic architecture and goth subculture." Happy happy.

111 Minna Gallery: Lethal Injection.
Artists: Robert Bowen, Isaac Pierro, Philip Lawson, Nicolas Giraud.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: The artists materialize their private mythologies in various media. Surrealistic, poetic designs express deeper ideas of their various investigations. Some imagery is also based on mythology, horror movies and science fiction.
