Gallery Wendi Norris: Journey Forth - Contemporary Landscape Between Technology and Tradition.
Artists: Brice Bischoff, Val Britton, Castaneda/Reiman, Kevin Cooley, Gregory Euclide, Patrick Jacobs, Tania Kitchell, Mary Anne Kluth, Matthew Moore, Clement Valla.
Review by RWM: Strange images of Nature stylishly depicted. Not all aesthetically pleasing, but one senses the power and presence of the wild out there, which by definition is sort of beyond design. Interesting to see the variety of ways to interact with all these plants growing towards and worshiping the sun. Existence is not always comfortable, but life has its ways. It also has observers.

Meridian Gallery: Cries, Chants, Shouts and Whispers... Songs of the Forgotten - Yisrael K. Feldsott.
Comment by AB: The art of Yisrael K. Feldsott is primitive and ethnographic in look and feel, but the issues he presents in his raw intense compositions are current and even more so, urgent.

The Fairmont Hotel: John Waguespack.
Comment by AB: I'm told that John Waguespack is the Fairmont's first artist-in-residence. Not quite clear on how this all came about or whether this is the beginning of an ongoing program, but he's here for the next three days painting live in the lobby. Tonight, his work is on exhibit outdoors in the roof garden.

Galeria de la Raza and Studio 24: Mi Barrio Es Tu Barrio - Victor De La Rosa; Rio Yañez - Pocho Adventure Club.
Comment by AB: Victor De La Rosa uses textiles-- produced by both traditional and digital means-- to recount tales of The Mission as told by its residents, merchants and visitors. Next door at Studio 24, see a survey of prints and graphics by Rio Yañez.

Covering and writing up these shows takes an immense amount of time, labor and most importantly-- dedication. Care to support the cause? I'd sure appreciate it.
