Modernism Gallery: Sheldon Greenberg - New Paintings; Edith Baumann - New Paintings.

Review by RWM: In the front gallery experience Sheldon Greenberg's representations with figures caught in contexts that require one's attention, their dramas heightened by astute applications of color and architectural elements. Narratives pervade these vivid intrigues. In the rear gallery, Edith Baumann's unusual elemental abstracts hold your attention while jogging your minimalist memory.

Creativity Explored: SMALL - Artwork that Fits in the Palm of Your Hand.

Artists: James Miles, Mary Belknap, Daniel Green, Michael Bernard Loggins, Duc Nguyen, Laron Bickerstaff, Gordon Chin, Sara O'Sullivan, Kevin Chu, more - over 40 artists in total.

Review by RWM: Small but still amazing. Guttural and sometimes heart wrenching. The art takes special effort to look at; you draw close in order to really see it.

Red Poppy Art House: Mission Maldives - Jenna North.

Comment by RWM: Jenna North's images shimmer and shake, captured here with precision.

Comment by AB: Jenna North tells me that the highest point on the Maldive Islands is 7 feet above sea level, so with the impending effects global warming, this atoll nation will be among the first to submerge. Her art is about that.

Fifty24SF Gallery: See you in Croatan - A San & Escif Road Show.

Review by Mairead O'Connor: 'See You in Croatian' documents the travels of Spanish duo San and Escif as they spend fifteen days traveling through California. They left their mark in the form of written word and beautifully executed paintings in various public places along the way.

Review by RWM: Nice trip to the country, but not for everybody. Get caught up in the rustic, but maybe don't get lost here for too long.

Comment by AB: Spanish artists San and Escif travel the American Western countryside. This show recounts that journey, or so I'm told. I guess you had to be there. Fortunately, several nicely rendered graphite drawings keep the ship afloat.
