Anthony Meier Fine Arts: Leonardo Drew.
Comment by AB: Remarkable assemblages by New York artist Leonardo Drew are comprised of thousands of bits and pieces and scraps of wood glued and fastened together into elaborate sculptural compositions. Some undulate like ocean waves while others look almost like complex science fiction landscapes from another planet. Definitely worth seeing.

Fused Space: A Topography of Chance. Curated by Jessica Silverman.
Artists: Bruce Nauman, Brie Ruais, Rose Marcus, Aaron Garber-Maikovska.
Review by RWM: Fascinating video by Bruce Nauman keeps you guessing as to what it's about. People might not always know why they are building fences, but as Robert Frost pointed out, there are some people who do enjoy walls. Great use of ceramics by Brie Ruais which will have you wondering whether one piece is actually lead thrown onto the floor and what the silver color signifies. Skilled work here.
Comment by AB: This show is inspired by An Anecdoted Topography of Chance, a classic Fluxus artist book by Daniel Spoerri. Good art on all counts; stop on by.

Arc Gallery & Studios: ArtBears SF.
Artists: Matthew Frederick, Kenneth Sloan, Charles Garrett.
Review by RWM: Nice to see the work of Matthew Frederick who is not quite painting by numbers, but his art seems like a riff or reaction to it. His people at the shore seek solitude in spite of the wind. Attention is also focused on fish, some of whose natural runs up the river have been thwarted by the effects of global warming and human disturbance, so much so that at times they are being trucked up the rivers. One might not get completely carried away by Frederick's artwork, but his style stays with you.
Also on display are interesting portraitures by Charles Garrett and wonderful abstracts by Kenneth Sloan which allow your psyche to play in the colors. They're enjoyable to view, but can also inspire profound interactions with color expression.
