Frey Norris Gallery: Shalinee Kumari - American Debut.
Comment by RWM: Indian legends in modern style. Impressive details, and delightful.
Comment by AB: Indian artist Shalinee Kumari convincingly updates traditional Indian wall painting, venturing well beyond conventional subject matters into the realm of global affairs. According to the fact sheet, she sources much of her material from BBC, and focuses her energies primarily on four issues-- capitalism, terrorism, environmentalism, and gender equality. Good stuff. Must be seen firsthand, up close and personal, to be truly appreciated.

Fecal Face Dot Gallery: Brett Amory.
Comment by RWM: Hard times in contrasting images. Though not colorful, there is still a connection with the outdoors with both plants and birds being part of these edgy images.
Comment by AB: Brett Amory tells me the paintings on the right side of the gallery are part of a series about waiting, and those on the left side of the gallery reference a dream he had one night.

Million Fishes: Sound Cave - An Interactive Sound Sculpture.
Comment by AB: Sound Cave, an chamber constructed mainly of piano innards, is the brainchild of Tyson Ayers. So the deal is that you climb inside and groove to the audio effects of people plucking and percussing the strings on the outside. And if you're so inclined, you can pluck and percuss the strings on the inside right back at 'em... and even vocalize or otherwise generate sound through a microphone dangling from the enclosure's ceiling.
Here we are - there's the Sound Cave.
