Comment by AB: One of my favorite arts organization fundraiser events of the year. Perhaps it's the venue-- Herbst International Exhibition Hall in the Presidio-- low light, plenty of room to schmooze, and never a dearth of schmoozeworthy schmoozers. And then there's the copious F&B (food and beverage) component. Plus a fine selection of art available at both the silent and live auctions, including a handful of major works capable of holding their own at any gallery exhibition anywhere. The good news? Prices at the live auction are more than respectable as patrons once again demonstrate the strength of their commitment to our cherished non-profit arts organizations.

Don Soker Gallery: High-Rise Project - A Survey of Gallery Artists.

Review by RWM, images c/o Don Soker Gallery: In this reclaimed and recycled space one will find abstracts galore in slots between the windows on the old white walls. A hodgepodge of work is on display revealing a heartfelt new state of abstraction. There are also weighty still lifes. The new work keeps one walking around in this quiet enclave with all the surrounding downtown buildings in view from the many windows. The abstractions and still lifes show commitment.
