Luggage Store Gallery: Lenore Chinn - Cultural Confluences.
Comment by AB: On the mezzanine level of the gallery, Lenore Chinn shows paintings with both traditional and progressive subject matters, the progressive ones reflecting her ongoing activism in the LGBT community. Upstairs in the main gallery, I finally get a chance to see Streetopia, likely their most complex and extensive installation ever. The space has been transformed into a maze of hallways, rooms, lofts, and even a theater/performance area with a stage. And of course, the entire shebang is infused with art.

Guerrero Gallery: I Call The Shots - Ben Venom; Between The Sheets - Adam Feibelman.
Comment by AB: Best spate of stitchery I've seen from Ben Venom to date as he collages pieces of heavy metal T-shirts and denim into quilts, vests, throw pillows, text works and more. Like it! In the rear gallery, Adam Feibelman layers and then stitches elaborate cut paper sheets into diorama-like scenes, mainly architectural and interiors. Worth a visit on both counts.

Comment by AB: In this annual live drawing event, well over 100 artists take turns making art in one-hour shifts. Once the art's done, it's immediately placed up for sale at $60 per piece with all proceeds going benefit Ess Eff's gem of a non-profit, Southern Exposure. As you might imagine, considering the roster of participating artists, numerous bargains are to be had. Hence the exceptionally healthy turnout and the intense competition for certain works of art the instant they become available for sale. Put this one on your agenda for next year and get ready to vie for the good stuff.

Wonderland SF Gallery: Iconic.
Artists: Alec Huxley, Amanda Lynn, Chris W. Stokes, David Hewitt, Elizabeth Strickland, Felicia Gabaldon, Fred Goykhman, Irene Martha Feiks, Jeffrey Nemenzo, Joshua Lawyer, Mark Campbell, Monty Dobitz, Renee Castro, Robert Garcia.
Comment by AB: A rousing group show celebrates the 2-year anniversary of this popular art and fashion venue. A couple of impressive endeavors by Elizabeth Strickland stand out-- a towering architectural charcoal rendition of Rome and The Vatican, and a glass "map" of Oakland.
