Dolby Chadwick Gallery: Ann Weber & Ada Sadler.
Comment by AB: In the front gallery, fanciful oversized "woven" cardboard sculptures by Ann Weber are certain to buoy the aura of any interior. In the back gallery, Ada Sadler presents the latest episode of what she does best-- exquisite small-format paintings of bathtub toys and period interiors with chairs, Hopper-esque in their quietness and tone. Stop on by.

Scott Richards Contemporary Art: Cheryl Kelley - Detailed.
Comment by AB: Hyperreal compositions of classic cars, some with exceptionally complex painted reflections, shimmer like they're showroom fresh. If you're a fan of the golden age of American automobiles, you'll love this show.

Gallery Paule Anglim: Xiaoze Xie - New Work; Kathleen Henderson - Drawings .
Comment by AB: I ask Xiaoze Xie how he determines the compositions of his newspaper paintings-- sometimes painted as piled, other times painted in a way that both front and back of a page are simultaneously visible-- and he tells me that's how he finds them at the library. But if you prefer to consider them as commentary, you'll find plenty of opportunity for that as well. In the rear gallery, Kathleen Henderson's cryptic oil stick drawings, a number of which include text, get you cogitating on their larger contexts.

Haines Gallery: Dennis Oppenheim - 1968, Earthworks and Ground Systems.
Comment by AB: Vintage conceptual landscapes by Dennis Oppenheim employ elements such as photography, architectural drawings, maps, video and typewritten captions to create documentary-style representations of fictional territories. Worth a visit.
