Patricia Sweetow Gallery: Revolving Around You - Sara Dykstra.
Comment by AB: Soft angular abstractions by Sara Dykstra have a translucence about them, looking almost like tissue paper collage.

Hashimoto Contemporary: Scott Hove - Master of Rapacity.
Comment by AB: Dessert with teeth in it aptly describes the deliciously delightful art of Scott Hove. It's only scary for an instant; from that point on, it's pure unadulterated fun. Sadly, I forgot to get a close-up of "The Slayer," a fully operational kiddie ride, finished in metallic royal blue automotive paint (I think) and tricked out with gold fabric fringe, black leather saddle and pointed studs galore. That's worth the price of admission right there.

Spoke Art Gallery: Femme Fatale - Rhys Cooper.
Comment by AB: The show's title sums up this body of art from Australian illustrator Rhys Cooper. Along the gallery walls, color prints alternate with original ink drawings on paper. Cooper's rap sheet also includes artwork for bands like the Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age, Blink 182 and the Foo Fighters.

Bash Contemporary: Dark Matters - Caitlin Hackett, Dave Correia and Rob Bowen.
Comment by AB: Three artists transport us to spectacular and imaginative realms of fantasy and fiction. Gruesome at times, but the good kind of gruesome.
