Comment by AB: Tonight's event celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge and is being held at Fort Point-- in the fort, directly beneath the bridge-- with art and installations by fifteen artists, curated by FOR-SITE Foundation. The wind is absolutely brutal, bone chilling and whipping probably in the vicinity of 40-50 miles per hour, howling so hard that I have trouble keeping my balance as I fight my way across the courtyard... and so does everyone else. We're all huddled (or should I say cowering) in the protected walkways and alcoves along the fort's walls trying our best to stay warm.
Fortunately, the art redeems all. It's on display in rooms and walkways on the second and third floors of the fort. Best of Show goes to Stephanie Syjuco for her souvenir shop installation consisting of an impressive assortment of typical gift store items, all colored in International Orange (the title of this show and the color of the Golden Gate Bridge). Come on down. It's certainly worth seeing, and you can't beat the venue. Art, history and marvels of engineering all rolled into one!
Here we are - note everyone huddled in the alcoves.
The only warmth on the premises - and even this wasn't warm enough.
He's got the warmest corner in the fort... can't you tell?

Eli Ridgway Gallery: Zachary Royer Scholz - Nothing Is Ever Finished.
Comment by AB, images c/o Neal Strickberger: I miss the opening, but according to the proclamation, Zachary Royer Scholz takes art he has already made and alters, combines or presents them in entirely new ways, thereby reaffirming Yogi Berra's venerated adage, "It ain't over 'til it's over." The art looks pretty peppy from the photos. Stop on by and check it out.
