Hedge Gallery: Erna Aaltonen - Nostalgia.

Comment by AB: The first American exhibition of hand-built ceramics by Finnish artist Erna Aaltonen. She crafts each piece by joining thin rolled strips of clay, end to end, and meticulously shaping them into finished works. The textures, the multiple glazes, the fluent curvilinear forms-- these ceramics practically shimmer in the light. For those of you keeping score at home, Finland has a rich modern design history.
