Caldwell Snyder Gallery: Buena Vista - Recent Paintings by Greg Miller.
Review by Kathryn Arnold: Interesting work with experimentation of materials. Portrayals of bricks are almost 3D trompe l'oeil or are they the actual thing? Multiple images and image sources abound in these works that are all sealed in with resins. Perpetuity!
Comment by AB: Greg Miller journeys us back in time with his nostalgic mixed-media and collage renditions, heavy on the 1950s when there was nowhere to go in America but up.

Jenkins Johnson Gallery: Romare Bearden - Storyteller.
Review by Kathryn Arnold: A very rare treat to be able to view Romare Bearden's work outside the museum setting. Engaging on many levels-- the narrative, the composition, the rich and vibrant colors, and mix this in with a window to the past. Motivating and inspiring!
Comment by AB: Worth seeing.

Sandra Lee Gallery: Younhee Paik and David Maxim.
Review by Kathryn Arnold: Two artists with differing influences tie neatly together in this exhibition. Younhee Paik has taken to further experimentation with maneuvering tree branches connecting to the sky. David Maxim's small sculptures of figures take on qualities of binding and constriction, and in others, movement and freedom. Materials play an essential part in David's work. Both oeuvres address the conditions of human life.

Hespe Gallery: Pablo D'Antoni - Siesta.
Review by Kathryn Arnold: Large empty spaces profound the intellect as one enters into the small detailed sections of the images. On another wall are three horizontal works, small with even smaller detailed images sourced from art history. A sense of identification and humor proceeds as one recognizes the sources.

Dolby Chadwick Gallery: Louise LeBourgeois - Towards Horizon.
Review by Kathryn Arnold: Mesmerizing scenes of horizons and sea. Immersion, visual and physical, as one contemplates these paintings. Seamless, smooth and glistening-- they are portrayals of the world without the interrupting textures. Gorgeous, I might add.
Comment by AB: Need a respite from life's travails? Nothing's more peaceful and meditative than the place where mist meets sea. Lose yourself in serenity and lessen your stresses by immersing in these.
