Andrea Schwartz Gallery: Seamus Conley - Flash/Dissolve.
Comment by AB: Seamus Conley blurs boundaries between dreams, imagination, and reality. The upshot? A plethora of pristine white suits, possibly an allusion to bleach. Then again, possibly not. Anyway, the scenarios are so perplexing, you kinda wanna tunnel a chunnel into this dude's subconscious to see what the deal is. The small-scale pencil drawings are particularly gratifying... and less in your face than the paintings. But it's all good, albeit a mite on the spooky side.

AFI + Associated: Marika Berlind - Another Universe.
Review by R.W. Miller: Marika Berlind explores the larger universe and the innerverse in this collection of paintings bordering on the abstract. You may recognize chemical forms as well as certain depictions of the greater cosmos and horizon. The work is bright, vibrant, and extraterrestrial. The chemicals sometimes connect and the greater cosmos sometimes astounds, as the artist attempts to explore the wonder of it all.
