Gregory Lind Gallery: Will Yackulic - Precision & Precarity.
Comment by AB: Will Yackulic's geometry involves a certain tension, with the elements of each painting assembled into tenuous constructions that clearly may topple at any moment. I don't know about you, but I don't think I could take the suspense of looking at one of these day after day and wondering when that moment's gonna come.

Project Gallery at Arc Studios & Gallery: Mike Kimball and Eric Rewitzer - Panamax, The Industrial Image.
Review by RWM: The shipyard is pictured as king and muse in a fascinating exploration of the banal. But in these skilled works one finds beauty, solitude, and a timelessness of sorts.

Lunar Mission: A Night of Collaborative Programming From 8 Nearby Galleries.
Participating galleries: Eleanor Harwood Gallery, Galeria de la Raza, Gallery Hijinks, Guerrero Gallery, Kadist Art Foundation, Southern Exposure, Steven Wolf Fine Arts, Triple Base.
Review by Clare Coppel: Lunar Mission is an evening coordinated between eight different galleries along the Bryant Street Corridor in which each has a unique event going on. Even though it's pouring rain the experience is still pretty awesome. Tonight also marks the opening event for the San Francisco branch of the Kadist Art Foundation. Beautiful minimal space, packed with people, black and white South Dakota Rodeo photography by Bob Newland, magazines and paintings. Should be interesting to see what unfolds here.
At Eleanor Harwood, music and a light show by Jeffery Manson and loads of people, so we didn't get much past the front door. At Galeria de la Raza, readings and music by Heather Watkins, Ilia Correa Sepulveda, Mijo de la Palma and art by Ana Teresa Fernandez on the walls. Also music by Future Twin (girl has a great voice) at Gallery Hijinks, plus alphabet art. At Guerrero Gallery, a sound sculpture by Jason Michael Leggiere and Christopher Robin Duncan, paintings by Ryan Travis Christian.
Steven Wolf Fine Arts features performance artist Margaret Tedesco, and at Triple Base, enjoy art and animation by Alexander Kori Girard and Rafael Altman. At Southern Exposure all kinds of speciality drinks, tons of people, a wall of Middle Eastern Art advertisements of some kind that are fascinating to examine, and a room celebrating the 'hood. Lunar Mission is a most interesting and entertaining event; hopefully we'll be seeing episode 2 in the future. Thanks Mission; it was fun.
