SFAQ[Project]Space: Comforter. Curated by Petra Collins.

Artists: Carlotta Kohl, T.V. Oates, Claire Milbrath, Nguan, Petra Collins.

Comment by AB: Sometimes we're comfortable, other times we're not. This debut group show at SFAQ[Project]Space is about the material component of these two states of being.

The Thing Quarterly: Julia Leonard's Either Way.

Comment by AB: Julia Leonard, founder of Either Way in LA, engages artists to produce functional objects. A selection of those objects is on display here tonight, along with the recent issues of The Thing Quarterly.

Et al. Gallery: James Cordas - a, dog I'm holding undermy arm with Its head pointed behind me.

Comment by AB: Lights continually blink on and off making this multimedia installation rather challenging to photograph. The show statement makes no sense, but that's all part of the art game, isn't it? You've got video, laser writing, a performance art policeman staring into a mirror, a variety of art strips, and more. Entertaining overall.

Capital Gallery: Rainen Knecht - Crazy Arms.

Comment by AB: Rainen Knecht has spent the last year living far outside the beltway, in the woods of Washington State. So rather than be influenced by all the usual influences, her art takes on an "outsider air" and an introspective tone.
