Robert Berman/E6 Gallery: Beyond Daylight - David Trulli.
Review by RWM: David Trulli captures the ominous metropolis in black and white. The scratchboard approach and skewed perspectives are somewhat disconcerting, but effectively send a message about dark and mercenary forces at work. The office buildings hardly seem sterile, and far from pristine. The views are at times powerful, dizzying and splendid. You can't help but appreciate the workmanship involved in Trulli's art.
Comment by AB: David Trulli puts a prodigious amount of painstaking labor into his art. Keep in mind that these works are created entirely by scratching with needles into uniform surfaces of black paint over white. You can't fully appreciate the process unless you get up close... real close.
