The LAB: Michael Ryan - Mere Reflections.
Comment by AB: Michael Ryan calls our attention to all the plastic crap that our exciting new purchases come packaged in, memoralizing them in somber black-backdrop paintings and stark plaster casts. After making our precious purchases, we immediately proceed to throw these extraneous materials away, not thinking for an instant about what impact they might have on our environment. In other words, think about it, and maybe one day even do something about it... before it's too late, that is, because if we keep going the way we're going now, one day it will be too late. Kinda like it; stop on by.

Romer Young Gallery: Molly Smith - Route.
Comment by AB: Molly Smith has been gallavanting across America for the past half year, meeting people, forming relationships, teaching art classes, and recording her journey not in the form of a traditional journal, but rather as art objects fashioned from materials she acquires along the way. Every art tells a story, and Molly Smith tells her stories here.

Aspect Art Gallery: Mark Waltrous-Heyliger - Surrealist Painter.
Review by RWM: Some great ocean horizon pictures in a show that's boldly colorful. Nice pictures of the outdoors with startling compositions. Nice to see a questioning smiler on the horizon as one faces one oceanscape. Other works are harder to categorize.
Comment by AB: Mark Waltrous-Heyliger lays down his cosmic conception of reality. If you can visualize it, it exists.
