San Francisco Center for the Book: Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here - A Response to Violence in Iraq from the Letterpress and Book Arts Community.
Artists: Various.
Comment by AB: Al-Mutanabbi Street is the historic center of bookselling in Baghdad. In March 2007, a car bomb was exploded on that street killing 30 injuring over 100. This show represents an answer from the book arts community via the Al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition not only to that event, but to all attempts anywhere and anytime to attack the printed word. This is also the inaugural show at their spacious new digs, around the corner from their previous location.
