Catherine Clark Gallery: Punch Card - A Group Exhibition.
Artists: Andy Diaz Hope and Laurel Roth, Nina Katchadourian, Ligorano/Reese, Devorah Sperber, Stephanie Syjuco, Masami Teraoka (in the viewing room).
Review by RWM: Wonderful colors and schematic changes in the viewing room. One can just absorb the bold and beautiful colors for unremembered minutes as the images change. In the gallery, interesting digital stitching produces visual wonders as we ponder how the images came to be. Small crystal balls mounted on metal stands create images and logos from thread spool compositions hanging on the walls. Fascinating juxtapositions of yarn and thread.
Comment by AB: Group shows generally don't thrill me, but this one's 100% worthy. Textiles in contemporary art. Tapestries by Andy Diaz Hope and Laurel Roth, thread spool and pipe cleaner magic by Devorah Sperber, hypnotic light show by Ligorano/Reese in the video room, everyday ordinariness elevated by Stephanie Syjuco, and threaded up postcards and pictures by Nina Katchadourian. Stop on by.

Market Street Gallery: Tao of Metal - Feng Jin.
Review by RWM: Cool doors and metal sculptures. Foreign and not fully recognizable, but they keep your attention nonetheless.
Comment by AB: Feng Jin applies patterns of contorted letter-like bronze forms to antique Chinese doors, lengths of bamboo, aged pieces of wood, and burnished metal. Nicely done and striking in their uniqueness. Stop on by.

ArtZone 461 Gallery: Life, With Adjustments - Stan Washburn; Real, Relevant - James Edmonds.
Review by RWM: Great show from Stan the man. Nice exploration of the emotional experience of connecting with and creating art. One can get lost in the wild or in the museum with the artistic process here.
Comment by AB: In the main gallery, Stan Washburn paints gallery and museum interiors, machinery and the great outdoors. In the side gallery, enjoy a Classical Realist mix by James Edmonds.
