Kiria Koula Gallery: Benoît Maire.
Comment by AB: Objects arranged in thought provoking ways and interspersed with videos get the dialogue flowing. The show's practically interactive in the sense of inciting conversation among viewers about how various elements fit together or what their relationships might be. Or if you're more the silent appreciator type, you can bask in the aesthetics of it all. Worth a visit.

Park Life: Oh, Comely - Pakayla Biehn & Aubrey Learner.
Comment by AB: Intriguing still-lifes interspersed with insects by Aubrey Learner range from splendid to unsettling. Pakayla Biehn paints sumptuous floral bouquets overlaid with what appear to be the most rudimentary renditions of eyes and a mouth, plus a lone ambiguous portrait swathed in cherry blossoms. The backstories on this strange creative brew? Who knows? No explanation or statement to be found. Stop on by.

Ever Gold Gallery: Mark Benson - How Was Your Weekend?
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Mark Benson transforms everyday objects into Duchampian sculptural narratives. The elements are carefully chosen to express the issues of contemporary life scenarios. Benson's readymades and assemblages constructed from materials like textiles, soap, plaster, paint and plastic confront viewers like psychic landscapes.
Comment by AB: Perusing this wiggy admixture, you're not quite sure whether it's a send up of art or art itself. The punch line is that these days, it doesn't even make a difference.
