Review by John Casey: The Alphonse Berber Gallery in Berkeley continues it's fine-art-meets-wearable-art aesthetic in their current show called "You, Me and Everyone We Know." There are some nice standouts here in a strong group show.

Cricket Engine Gallery: Lexa Walsh - Oakland, & Other Journeys
Review by John Casey: Oakland artist Lexa Walsh presents records of her recent journeys both near (Oakland and other U.S. cities) and far (Europe and India) in the last 5 months. Maps made of rope, charting her routes, are in the exhibition as well as hand-drawn maps of mixed media on paper. Her project, where she makes business cards for folks she has met during her journeys, is especially enchanting.

Blankspace Gallery: Rene Gertler - Modality Room
Review by John Casey: Rene Gertler creates a homey domestic environment to display her odd but elegant scientific models. Most of the objects are painted black to suggest an alternate universe space-alien bachelor or bachelorette pad.
