Gallery 16: Libby Black - A Light That Never Goes Out; Serena Cole - Let Me Look at You
Comment by AB: Libby Black lays down yet another trademark send-up of name-brand materiality, this time seasoned with a dash of pulp sexuality and graphite renditions of seminal celebrity photos, while Serena Cole presents a set of exquisitely piercing portraits in watercolor. It's all good here. Go see.

Cult Exhibitions: Pablo Dvila - Ladies & Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space
Comment by AB: In a series of artworks inspired by and incorporating various technological aspects, Pablo Dvila essays on matters ranging earth's speeding through the universe and the passage of time to spirituality and meta levels of consciousness. In the rear gallery is a kinetic drumstick cymbal sculpture controlled by UNIX time codes with a planned active lifespan lasting through 2038. Worth seeing.
