Comment by AB: It's onward and upward for the StartUp Art Fair. This year's talent hails not only from The Bay Area and California, but also from around the country and overseas as well. The fact that all participating artists are selected by jury assures a level of quality unlike other artist fairs where whoever has the money gets in. Here, you gotta have the art too. And these artists do. With increasing numbers of artists self-representing these days, thanks largely to the Internet, the frequency of events like this will likely only increase. Speaking of which, one of the directors tells me StartUp Art Fair Chicago will be comin' down the pike real soon.
