Comment by AB: According to the background check, this is the first time in the history of everything that husband and wife, Jeff Schomberg and Laura Kimpton, team up for a tandem display of their art. I'm guessing they want to take this a step at a time 'cuz they've literally split the gallery in two with a strip of yellow tape about three inches wide-- kinda like a benign demilitarized zone. The good news is that the art's eminently enjoyable on all counts. Jeff Schomberg sculpture includes hammered/shaped/welded freestanding pieces, rusted found object wall hangings, and cut welded sheet metal works, while Laura Kimption shows found object assemblage, encaustics, and cut and welded sheet metal sculptures as well. For you bargain hunters, Kimpton's smaller encaustics are all under $200.
