Mirus Gallery: Meredith Dittmar - Between Our Eyes

Comment by AB: Futuristic mixed-media sculptural representations of people, places and objects. Design, architecture and imagination all the way. Stories are told, the mind opens wide, journeys are yours for the taking as the inhabitants invite you into their otherworldly lives. The closer you look, the more you see. Check it out.

871 Fine Arts, 20 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94105: Stephen Vincent - The Last 100 Days of the Presidency of Barack Obama

Comment by AB: While traveling cross country by train, poet and writer Stephen Vincent created 100 drawings and corresponding journal entries, one per day, during the final hundred one hundred days of Obama's presidency. Sigh. We're into a whole new dealie-bob now.

Park Life: Jonathan Anzalone - Drought Resistant

Comment by AB: Bits and pieces of this and that are displayed in cleanly crafted 3 X 5 inch frames. $200 each. Mix and match. The artist tells me the size is a direct reference to notecards, which he uses all the time, and whips a handful of annotated ones out of his pocket to prove it. Perhaps then the subject matters might relate to notes we jot down either physically or mentally as we wend our way through daily life.
