Scott Richards Contemporary Art: Tim Bavington - Feedback.
Comment by AB: Tim Bavington paints music with an airbrush, rock & roll in particular, like Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and Goodbye to Love by the Carpenters, for example. Vertical swaths of color correspond to notes and chords while their thickness corresponds to how long they are held.

Dolby Chadwick Gallery: Ann Gale.
Comment by AB: Portrait and figural impressions by Ann Gale capture the emotion and tone of the moment. When you zoom in close, the details you just saw at a distance seem to vanish before your eyes.

Leica Store San Francisco: Sebastio Salgado.
Comment by AB: For those of you not familiar with Sebastio Salgado, he gives us glimpses into the evolution of life and the human condition on this planet. They range from stunning and majestic to disturbing, alarming and downright apocalyptic. All are exquisitely artistic, yet demand our attention and often implore us to act. Images from four of his most significant series-- Sahel, Workers, Migrations and Genesis-- are on exhibit here. Don't miss this show.

Spoke Art Gallery: Joan Cornell.
Comment by AB: It's LOL tasteless. That pretty much sums up the macabre art of Barcelona artist Joan Cornell. Stop on by; you won't be disappointed. He's got an impressive following as evidenced by the line for signed copies of his most recent book which stretches down the block and around the corner.
