Haines Gallery: Proving Ground - David Maisel; Running Rabbits - Taha Heydari
Comment by AB: In the front gallery, Taha Heydari imagines what news and current events might look like on completely dysfunctional flat panel screens. But he leaves enough clues to speculate on the narratives. In the rear galery, David Maisel gets access to a classified military site and shares the results with us. Good show on both counts.

Comment by AB: If you love music and you love art, this show's all about the marriage between the two. I love a good collection no matter what it is, and this is a good collection. You know why I love a good collection? Because it always teaches me things I never knew. The better it is, the more I learn. Yes yes and yes.

Gregory Lind Gallery: Anne McGuire - Square Spirals
Comment by AB: Watercolors composed of myriad gridded squares, each hand-colored and so minuscule, you can hardly believe the colors stay within the lines. Completing these was a heroic endeavor indeed. Definitely worth marveling at in person.

The Magazine: Bob Mizer Film Night
Comment by AB: For decades, this store has been a go-to source for vintage magazines and periodicals, but tonight it's vintage films by prolific filmmaker and photographer Bob Mizer. Titles include "Doc Faggerty's Strange Experiment," "Escape in Drag," and "Devil & The Sissy." Below are a couple of stills from Doc Faggerty, best described as science fiction with a wrestling match.
