OPENING 04.17.04 Comment: Director Steven Lopez was kind enough to email some images of the gallery's recent Gordon Cook (1927-1985) opening reception. Looks like a pretty good opening, and well attended-- from the images, that is. Impressive selection of art too, from what I can tell, fractionated Morandi-like still lifes and landscapes. I missed the opening. My invitation must have gotten lost in the mail. But that's OK. I had other things to do (TV and Cheetos). You know what they say-- having images emailed to you is the next best thing to being there. Cook made prints early, paintings and sculptures later, and he left us too soon. San Francisco art community legend, Charles Campbell, represents Cook's estate, and also those of James Weeks and Harry Bowden. Artist/Artists: Gordon Cook.
Art. Art. I wanna be like Charles. The nice lady from the gallery downstairs. Art. Charles Campbell Gallery
