Comment: Düsseldorf-based painter Driss Ouadahi grids himself up some of the more engaging abstract mirage work I've seen in a while. They sure look like highrise cityscapes, but if you study the compositions up close or attempt to logic them out, those realities you thought you saw inevitably commence to vanish. Confident, convincing, and technically top shelf. Susan Marie Dopp, according to the brochure, "attempts to create a state akin to that of a meditation practice," with her delicately rendered, periodically positioned geometries. I see where she's going with this, and the smaller pieces hang in there, but as for the larger ones, when you trend inordinately spare and sporadic, you risk observations like, "So far, so good, but when's she gonna finish it?"
