SFMOMA Artists Gallery at Fort Mason: Faraway Places.

Comment by AB: Paintings of faraway places-- just like the title says. Uruguay-born painter Alejandro Rubio tells me his faraway places emanate directly from his mind, and that he paints them without the use of any photographs or other images. Of particular note is a glass case filled with M. Louise Stanley's sketchbooks-- brimming with exquisitely executed images from her European journeys, and looking like they're straight out of Victorian times (as does her art). Nice show, and worth a visit.
