Velvet da Vinci: Stacey Lee Webber - CHANGE.

Comment by AB: Stacey Lee Webber makes art out of change-- pocket change, spare change-- that kind of change-- coinage. She transforms these coins into sculpture, jewelry, and objets de vertu by bending, twisting, welding, hammering, folding, patterning, and especially by sawing the portrait heads out of 'em-- and not just a few-- hundreds. Some of her works approach mind-boggling in terms of intricacy and degree of difficulty, and that, dear artsters, would indicate that Webber's dedication to her craft is above and beyond the call of something, but I'm not sure what. So uh... let's see... I gotta give her some kind of award. Wait a second. Lemme check the awards drawer. OK. I hereby declare Stacy Lee Webber an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Order of Repetitive Stress, and I'll throw in a rare and highly coveted "How Do Dey Do Dat?" Award for good measure.
