Jastrab of RayKo Photo, and Doreen Schmid of Photo Alliance; 22 were selected to participate in this extensive survey of current work emanating from this region of the state. Good exhibition; plenty to see-- located in the basement of City Hall.

SomArts Gallery: AIM FOR FREEDOM! A 40 Year Photography & Art Retrospective of the American Indian Movement.

Comment by AB: Impactful and informative exhibition largely documenting the history of AIM, the American Indian Movement, in photographs, posters, and printed materials. There's also art, particularly a fine selection of contemporary handwoven rugs. Opening night festivities include traditional singing and dancing performance groups, a sampling of Native American cuisine, and more. Excellent, educational, inspiring, recommended. Check the SomArts website for several upcoming special events related to the show.

Comment by AB: Black Swan Wines supports the arts with a traveling show and tasting extravaganza, so they get a link. Special added bonus-- their wines taste good too. As for the art, you've got an urban assortment by USA artists blended together with limited edition prints of famous Rock & Roll lyrics (a collaboration between the United Kingdom's Airside and EMI Music Publishing).
