Marian Ferrara is kind enough to shoot three shows for me though, so January 25th isn't a dearth on my docket. Sorry to miss your event; I'll be there next time. Aftermodern Gallery: Grandma. Artists: Libby Black, Chris Bogia, Matt Borruso, Hein Koh, Deb Sokolow, Ann Toebbe. Comment by AB: According to the fact sheet, the art is "an exploration of metaphoric forms steeped in the intricacies of personal narrative," but then mysteriously, as if it realizes that phrase means basically nothing (or anything), it cans the bombast and proceeds to explain the art in plain English. The works in the show are expressions of what the participating artists think about, feel, or associate with when they hear the word "Grandma."
