NEEDLES & PENS GALLERY 01.29.05 Needles & Pens Zine Shop Gallery: Sara Thustra; Seven Prints & Some Paints. Comment: Sara Thustra respects life, the planet we live on, and the care we must take with our resources. He lives in accordance with that respect. However, he grows weary of people who gout themselves senseless at the expense the greater good-- especially those who intrude on the autonomy of others, and he deeply questions how some can demonstrate such colossal contempt for their fellow human beings. Well, Sara Thustra, you've been given a gift-- your art. You can communicate in ways that few of us can, and perhaps, during the course of your artistry, will help woo the malignantly selfish away from the "me" and back to the "us." As far as Sara Thustra's present communications skills go, he's quite adept with the serigraphs (silkscreens), particularly evident in three poignant energized labor-intensive multicolor homilies, "So-So," "SF Don't Stop Wars," and "This Ship," that together form the focal point of the show. There's no doubt plenty more passion to come. Art. This Ship, SF Don't Stop Wars, So-So ($650, $550, $650). Art. Sara Thustra (right) and friend. Art. Art. Art. Art. Price list. Culinary adventure.
