Comment by AB: Art by forty Ibero-American artists currently living and working in California (and one from Mexico) fills the entire Mexican Consulate. According to the explanatory, "more than 400 people visit the Mexican Consulate every day looking for visas, passports, legal assistance, birth certificates, among others," and the art in this show is as much for them as anyone else, as they "wait and process their documents."

I will say this-- the Mexican Consulate supports the arts like no other consulate or embassy in San Francisco that I'm aware of. They not only understand the value of the arts in general, as integrated into all aspects of life (including governmental), but also with respect to the current political climate. They recognize the need for artists who may be part of more than one culture to express themselves, and for people who may be part of more than one culture to experience those acts of creative self-expression. Meanwhile back at the opening, this is one mungo multi-floor art party!
