Braunstein/Quay Gallery: Mary Snowden - Down on the Farm.
Comment by AB: It's harvest time and in honor of that, Mary Snowden paints, draws and stitches herself up a bona fide bucolic bonanza. Rural living never looked so good. Worth a visit.

Comment by AB: For $165, you get your pick of hundreds of works of art, first come first served-- Visual Aid's monumental annual San Francisco fundraiser event to benefit artists with life-threatening illnesses. Now if you wanna forego the $165 fixed-price frenzy, you can always come later (for a mere $50), join in the fun and bid on a select group of artworks at the live auction. Either way, everybody wins!

Guerrero Gallery: AJ Fosik, Ben Venom, Erin Riley.
Comment by AB: Wild polychromed wooden creatures by A. J. Fosik-- big game trophies for urban outdoorsmen... and women too. Also on the docket, Ben Venom slices up vintage heavy metal T-shirts and transforms 'em into domestic cozies like quilts, afghans and pillows. Cozy up and rage! Erin Riley, not to be outdone, purloins renegade raunch off the Internet and weaves it into hand-dyed wool tapestries. It's a recommended three-fer. Amble on by.

[ 2nd floor projects ]: Math Bass - Elisheva Biernoff; Masha Tupitsyn (Liquefaction, limited edition).
Review by RWM: See landscapes in the fog by Elisheva Biernoff. Are we looking at Nature from a San Francisco perspective? The images in the film suggest such-- probably a good thing. The indeterminate ever-changing landscapes are discernable in the haze, but not fully recognizable, hence universal in some inscrutable way.

Mollusk Surf Shop: Surf Art - Orion Shepherd.
Review by RWM: A nice variety of art about an American pastime, with images of our flag on display even. Good old fashioned emotions evoked to the tunes of The Beach Boys and others. More about the scene than the ocean for these marine mammals caught on land and taken with the muse.

The Shooting Gallery: Dave Schubert - Vision is a Dream.
Review by Clare Coppel: Dave Schubert's photographs in color and black and white proffer slices of modern life as we know it. Blood, sex, lips, tags, kittens and such. It is what it is and that's what makes it fascinating.
Review by RWM: What wild scenes displayed. Here one has lived the life and captured it for retelling.

White Walls Gallery: Ganas 20/20 - New Works by Ernesto Yerena Montejano.
The revolution is upon us again, depicted here with style, contemplation and love. The roles are depicted and described, showcasing all who are involved. No anger here, rather commitment.
Review by Clare Coppel: Ganas 20/20 features works by Ernesto Yerena Montejano about a proactive Latino community of the future. Thats cool. The future is always a good subject. Complete with stories about each of the characters in the images and how they interconnect. Wait-- is there a movie coming out?
Comment by AB: What do you get when you cross Shepard Fairey with a color consultant?

Review by Clare Coppel: Really Heist Annex, I think you might be moving kinda fast in the relationship and all... it's cool, though we all get a little crazy sometimes. Then again, that's what keeps life interesting, right? Wow. A lot of crazy rooms full of crazy art, like being in someone's subconscious! Awesomeness, me gusta mucho. Particularly Adam Rozan, the security guard.
