Sandra Lee Gallery: Toi Hoang - Homecoming.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: The art of Toi Hoang is minimalist in nature, reminiscent of Agnes Martin, Robert Ryman and Brice Marden (Cold Mountain). Quiet bold works emphasize natural materials and colors in new ways. Strips of fabric suspended from wooden frames-- one anticipates a moment's breeze will sway them into new patterns altogether.

ArtPoint at the de Young Museum: Annual Bastille Day Party.

Comment by AB: The perfect excuse for an art party-- Bastille Day! So that's what we have here at the de Young tonight courtesy of ArtPoint. This art lover's celebration encompasses music, dancing, libations, delectables, oodles of attractive intelligent artsters, and the best part of all-- full unlimited access to Picasso Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris. And what an awesome exhibition it is! Don't miss it; this is the good stuff.

For those of you not familiar with ArtPoint, it's an organization of young professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco-- the de Young and Legion of Honor. ArtPoint regularly host social and educational events including behind-the-scenes tours, special museum receptions, and more. Proceeds from all events benefit the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Check 'em out.
