Ratio 3 Gallery: Green Circle, Black Diamond.

Artists: Al Held, Barry McGee, Jim Lee, Laeh Glenn, Michael Rey, Mitzi Pederson, Noam Rappaport, Ron Gorchov.

Comment by AB: A good deal of precision on display anchored by an imposing Barry McGee patchwork painting in the side gallery and an exquisite otherworldly Al Held. Stop on by.

Artists: Jonathan Anzalone, Raïssa Bump, Lara Cannon, Percy Cannon, Lizzy Cross, John Freeborn, Alice Gould, Jessica Hess, Ritsuko Hirai, Michael Neff, Mel Prest, Elizabeth Thorop.

Comment by AB: It's a RISD alumni show. Instead of something for everyone, it's something by everyone.

The Performance Art Institute: Scott Sherwood - Upcycling Extinction; Qween Amor; Vicky Marlene - Street Naming; The Human Infrastructure Project.

Comment by AB: The Performance Art Institute affirms its standing as the strangest, most inscrutable art space in San Francisco, tonight supposedly opening four separate shows in their eerie interior. No one, including someone who tells me he works there, can answer any of my questions. I do luck out however, and manage to identify one of the shows-- an captivating presentation by Scott Sherwood, who takes discarded vintage 35mm slides and "weaves" them into hanging curtains of unidentifiable history.
